Flying Fish reopens for summer on the Barefoot boardwalk

Flying Fish is back on full summer service at the water end of Barefoot Landing, running the market counter, the raw bar and the boardwalk-facing tables together rather than in the reduced off-season pattern.

The format is the useful part. Order at the counter, sit outside, and get out in under an hour if you need to. That makes it the most reliable option on the strip when the sit-down rooms are backed up, and the obvious pick before a show at the far end of the complex.

Three ways to eat here, and they are not interchangeable. The market counter is fastest and best for a single plate. The raw bar is where the day boat comes in and where you should be sitting if oysters are the reason you drove over. The boardwalk tables are the slowest but the only ones with the water in front of you.

Check the daily board on arrival rather than planning around it. Chef specials here move with supply, not a calendar, and the good ones sell out. The permanent menu is steady; the board is where the kitchen is actually working.

Hours stretch later through the summer and pull back hard after the season, so treat posted closing times as approximate in shoulder months and call before a late arrival.
