Families and bicycling enthusiasts across the Grand Strand are invited to participate in the upcoming Pedal in the Park event this fall. The City of North Myrtle Beach Parks and Recreation Department will host the community gathering on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Designed as a leisurely evening ride rather than a competitive race, the event offers local residents and visitors a safe, structured opportunity to get outdoors and stay active together.
The ride will take place in the Shark Wake Park parking lot loop within the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex, located at 150 Citizens Circle in Little River. Officers and firefighters from the North Myrtle Beach Police Department and Fire Department will join participants along the route. The event is completely free to attend and is open to community members of all ages.
Organizers emphasize that the group ride will begin promptly at 7:00 PM. At that exact time, the Shark Wake Park parking lot will close to vehicle traffic to ensure the safety of all cyclists. Attendees planning to park in the main event lot should arrive early enough to unload their bicycles and settle in before the 7:00 PM closure. Drivers arriving after the ride has started will be directed to park in the complex's baseball lot and use the connecting pedestrian walkway through the marsh to reach the activity area.
Participants must bring their own bicycles and wear proper safety helmets. To add a festive element to the evening, attendees are encouraged to dress up according to this year's "Let's Glow Crazy" theme. The Parks and Recreation Department will provide complimentary bottled water for everyone in attendance throughout the event.
