North Myrtle Beach to Host Free Fall Plant Swap on September 16

North Myrtle Beach Parks and Recreation will host its semi-annual Fall Plant Swap on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. The free afternoon gathering invites local gardeners, homeowners, and plant enthusiasts to clear out extra supplies, trade cuttings, and pick up new varieties for their home gardens.

The event will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the outdoor courtyard at the J. Bryan Floyd Community Center, located at 1030 Possum Trot Road in North Myrtle Beach. Attendees are encouraged to bring any healthy plants, cuttings, pots, or gardening tools they wish to exchange. Participants should label all items clearly with the plant name and basic care instructions for the next owner. A designated donation area will also be available for those who wish to drop off items to condense their collections without taking anything new home.

In addition to the plant exchange, the gathering will feature educational sessions and advice from local horticultural organizations. South Carolina Master Gardeners will open the event with a short presentation on plants native to the Grand Strand area and offer tips on selecting species that benefit the local environment.

Representatives from several community groups will be on hand throughout the afternoon. The South Carolina Native Plant Society will share guidance on distinguishing native species from invasive plants. Members of local North Myrtle Beach Garden Clubs will be available to answer general gardening questions, share local beautification projects, and provide membership details for interested residents.

Additionally, the Keep North Myrtle Beach Beautiful program will offer information about volunteer efforts, beach access adoption programs, litter prevention, and recycling initiatives.
