North Myrtle Beach Details 2026 Dashing Through The Glow Holiday Run

North Myrtle Beach announced details and registration dates for the 2026 Dashing Through The Glow holiday fun run and walk.

Why this matters locally

This event offers local families and visitors an exclusive preview of the Great Christmas Light Show on foot before the drive-through season opens.

The City of North Myrtle Beach Parks and Recreation Department recently announced the details for the 2026 "Dashing Through The Glow" event, giving residents and holiday visitors an early look at the annual Great Christmas Light Show.

The non-competitive, approximately two-mile walk and run is scheduled for Friday, November 20, and Saturday, November 21, 2026. Participants of all ages are invited to dress in their best holiday-themed outfits, with prizes awarded for the best dressed individual and best dressed family. The course takes runners and walkers directly through the light show display route, finishing at Santa's Village where attendees can enjoy hot chocolate and holiday activities.

Registration officially opens on Monday, August 24, 2026, and will remain open until the event sells out. Tickets are priced at $25 for adults aged 12 and older, and $10 for youth aged 11 and under. Entry fees include a finisher medal and hot chocolate at Santa's Village. Children in strollers may attend at no cost alongside a paying adult, though strollers will not receive a finisher medal. All ticket sales are final and non-refundable.

On both event nights, the main park gate will be open for entry from 5:30 p.m. until 6:45 p.m., with the walk/run starting promptly at 7:00 p.m. All attendees must be inside the park before 6:45 p.m., as access roads will close to allow participants onto the course. The park will be completely cleared of vehicles at 5:00 p.m. prior to event check-in, so early arrivals during standard park hours will be required to exit at that time.

City officials emphasize that only registered participants with valid tickets will be allowed entry into the park, and no spectators will be permitted. Attendees must present a printed ticket with a scannable barcode at the gate, which is attached to the bottom of the email receipt sent upon registration. Updated traffic and shuttle details for 2026 are expected to be released closer to the event.
