North Myrtle Beach Offers Day Excursion to Wilmington for Ceramic Workshop

The City of North Myrtle Beach Parks and Recreation Department will host its next ArtVentures day trip on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. This quarterly outing offers residents and local craft enthusiasts a chance to travel together to Wilmington, North Carolina, for a holiday-themed workshop at Salty Ceramics Studio.

Participants will paint their own classic ceramic Christmas trees, which come complete with light kits and a choice of multi-color or all-white bulbs. The completed ceramic trees will remain at the Wilmington studio to be dried, fired, and finalized. City staff will return to collect the finished pieces in two to three weeks and arrange local pickup at the J. Bryan Floyd Community Center, ensuring items are ready well ahead of the winter holiday season.

The day trip begins on Wednesday, August 5, with participants gathering at 9:15 a.m. at the J. Bryan Floyd Community Center in North Myrtle Beach. The shuttle bus will depart promptly at 9:30 a.m. The itinerary includes an 11:00 a.m. lunch stop at The Pointe at Barclay complex, where attendees can choose from several dining options, followed by the workshop from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The return group is expected back in North Myrtle Beach around 5:00 p.m., depending on regional traffic conditions.

The cost for the trip is $90 per person. Online registration is managed through the city's rec portal. If the event fills to capacity, interested residents are strongly encouraged to join the official waiting list. City organizers rely on waiting list numbers to evaluate community interest and schedule potential follow-up dates for future ArtVentures excursions.
