A long-vacant commercial property along Highway 17 South will return to active use on Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, when Maryland-based family-entertainment venue AlleyOops opens its doors to the public in North Myrtle Beach.
Located at 3607 Highway 17 South—about one mile north of Barefoot Landing at the site of the former Ryan’s buffet—the new venue brings a multi-attraction concept under one roof. The opening represents the Maryland company's third overall location and its first expansion outside its home state.
The property was acquired by AlleyOops MB Properties, LLC in June 2024 for approximately $2.4 million, followed by an extensive interior redevelopment. The completed facility combines a Chesapeake-focused restaurant menu—featuring items like Maryland crabcakes, crabcake egg rolls, smoked wings, steaks, and steam pots—with a full range of indoor family activities.
Attractions inside the venue include an 18-hole putting range, duckpin-style bowling, racing simulators, a dark ride, a full arcade, a 60-foot television screen, and a 25-foot tank featuring blacktip and bonnethead sharks. The shark habitat serves as a focal point separating the dining area from the entertainment floor, with scheduled feedings planned for visitors.
The opening provides North Myrtle Beach with a major indoor dining and entertainment option as the region enters its fall shoulder season. Year-round indoor venues offer consistent activity for local residents and visitors even during winter months when outdoor beach activities taper off.
Opening day is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 18, starting at 4 p.m. Operating hours will run Friday from 4 p.m. to midnight, and Saturday through Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to midnight. The venue will be closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
