Water Line Construction to Begin Late August in North Myrtle Beach

Phase two of the 30-inch Water Transmission Line project is scheduled to begin in North Myrtle Beach before the end of August. City officials expect construction to start near 27th Avenue South and Madison Drive on August 31, 2026, with work continuing through January 2027 before wrapping up near 32nd Avenue South.

This upcoming phase represents the final segment of the major utility infrastructure effort. Once finished, the city expects the overall project to enhance the long-term resiliency and reliability of the municipal public water system serving area households and businesses.

Commuters and residents traveling through the southern portion of North Myrtle Beach should prepare for temporary travel disruptions as crews move forward. The city has notified drivers to expect localized lane closures and traffic detours along the construction route as work progresses through the late summer and fall months.

Local motorists, delivery drivers, and neighborhood residents are advised to plan for extra travel time in the surrounding residential streets and intersections.
