FCA US LLC has issued a major safety recall for more than 1.5 million Dodge Ram pickup trucks worldwide due to a potential issue with the vehicle's rear seat belt system. According to the manufacturer, more than 1.2 million of the affected vehicles were sold in the United States, with the remaining trucks located across Canada, Mexico, and international markets outside of North America.

The recall specifically applies to certain 2019-2026 Ram 1500 truck models. The safety issue involves the seat belt buckle anchor located on the second-row center seat and the second-row driver-side seat. The manufacturer determined that the anchor on these specific rear seating positions may not have been properly attached to the vehicle's body during the assembly process.

This defect presents a direct safety concern for passengers riding in the rear seats. In the event of a vehicle crash, an improperly secured anchor could affect how the seat belt system performs, potentially failing to restrain occupants correctly and increasing the chances of injury.
