North Myrtle Beach Details July Fourth Fireworks and Traffic Plans

The City of North Myrtle Beach will host its annual Fourth of July Fireworks Show at the Cherry Grove Pier, located at 3500 North Ocean Boulevard. The professional display is free to the public and will run from 9:30 PM to 10:00 PM.

To ensure safety during the event, several temporary closures and restrictions will be put in place. The 3500 block of North Ocean Boulevard, which includes the Cherry Grove Pier itself, will be closed during the show. Additionally, a 300-foot section of the beach on both sides of the pier will be closed to the public starting at 7:00 PM until official clearance is given. Shoreline spectators should check local tide charts in advance to plan their viewing spots safely.

Local safety ordinances remain in strict effect for the event. Personal fireworks—including their sale, possession, or use—are completely prohibited within the city limits of North Myrtle Beach, making the permitted display at Cherry Grove Pier the designated celebration. Spectators are also reminded that South Carolina state law prohibits operating golf carts after daylight hours, which are defined under Daylight Saving Time as 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Parking in the median along Ocean Boulevard is strictly prohibited.

Following the conclusion of the fireworks display, the North Myrtle Beach Police Department will implement a reverse traffic pattern to safely clear vehicles from the Cherry Grove area. Under this plan, Ocean Boulevard traffic will move strictly northbound and southbound, and drivers will not be permitted to turn onto Sea Mountain Highway from Ocean Boulevard. Drivers heading toward Highway 17 North will be directed via 11th Avenue North.

In addition, all southbound traffic on Nixon Street and Duffy Street must turn right onto Sea Mountain Highway, while all eastbound traffic on Sea Mountain Highway will be routed right onto Duffy Street and directed toward Ocean Boulevard via 22nd Avenue North. Standard traffic flow will resume once the post-show traffic clears. Attendees and local motorists are asked to exercise patience and use caution when traveling through Cherry Grove.
