North Myrtle Beach City Council Structure, Meetings, and Contact Guide
North Myrtle Beach City Council meetings, elected officials, and contact information provide a standing reference for local residents and property owners.

Why this matters locally
Understanding city governance helps North Myrtle Beach residents and local business owners engage in public meetings, monitor civic policy, and reach out directly to elected representatives.
The City of North Myrtle Beach operates under a Council form of government consisting of a Mayor and six Council members. Each elected official holds one vote on municipal matters and serves a four-year staggered term, with three Council seats up for election every two years.
City Council is responsible for adopting local codes, appropriating funds, approving annual municipal budgets, levying city taxes, and issuing bonds. The Council also oversees annexation requests, administers public lands, and establishes municipal policies intended to promote the health, safety, and general welfare of North Myrtle Beach residents.
Regular Council meetings take place at 6:00 PM inside City Hall. Meetings are generally scheduled for the first and third Mondays of each month. However, during peak summer tourism months and periods with major holidays, Council typically conducts one regular meeting per month. Executive sessions may occur prior to the open public portion of the meeting.
