Horry County High School Football Playoff Matchups Set for Nov. 6

Eight Horry County high school football teams advance to the state playoffs opening Friday, Nov. 6, including North Myrtle Beach and home-host Conway.

Why this matters locally

Eight local high school football programs advance to the postseason on Friday, bringing playoff games, team travel, and community game-night crowds across the Grand Strand.

Horry County's high school football postseason is set to begin on Friday, Nov. 6, 2026, with eight local teams qualifying for the South Carolina High School League state playoffs. The field includes North Myrtle Beach, Carolina Forest, Conway, Socastee, Loris, Aynor, Atlantic Collegiate Academy, and Green Sea Floyds.

In Class 4A, the North Myrtle Beach Chiefs (6-4) earned the No. 12 seed in the Lower State bracket and will travel to face the fifth-seeded Lucy Beckham Bengals (7-3) on Friday. Meanwhile, the Conway Tigers (5-5) captured the No. 7 seed and will host No. 10 May River at home in "The Backyard," marking Conway's first home playoff game since 2017. Myrtle Beach High School (5-5) missed the postseason field entirely despite a regular-season finale victory over North Myrtle Beach, impacted by the state's playoff RPI system where only the top two region teams qualified automatically.

In Class 5A action, Carolina Forest (8-2) secured the fourth seed in the Lower State after finishing second in Region VI-5A and will enjoy a first-round bye on Friday. Socastee (4-6) earned the No. 10 seed and will travel to take on No. 7 Gray Collegiate.

Local programs in Class 3A face familiar region competitors in the opening round. Loris (8-2) holds the fifth seed and will host No. 12 Darlington (4-6), a team the Lions defeated 21-20 in the regular season. Ninth-seeded Aynor (6-4) travels to face eighth-seeded Crestwood (6-4), while No. 11 Atlantic Collegiate Academy (4-6) hits the road to play No. 6 Gilbert (8-2).

In Class 1A Division II, Green Sea Floyds (4-6) secured the No. 16 seed and will host No. 17 Ridge Spring-Monetta (4-6) on Friday. The winner advances to play top-seeded Blackville-Hilda in the second round on Friday, Nov. 13.

Kickoff times and ticket purchasing guidelines are managed through individual host school athletic departments. Local fans planning to travel to out-of-town matchups or attend home games in Conway, Loris, or Green Sea Floyds should prepare for stadium security screening and clear-bag policies standard across Horry County public school athletic venues.
